Professional Geophysicist, APEGA

Jeremy was educated at the University of Calgary, a recognized global geoscience leader, and received a B.Sc. Geophysics with a minor in Commerce from the Haskayne School of Business in 2004. Upon graduation Jeremy joined the workforce and was exposed to a multitude of geoscientific methods and gained years of experience with field operations, data processing, interpretation and client consultation.

After these initial development years, Jeremy was recruited by EnCana, at the time one of the largest petroleum producers in North America. Jeremy completed his professional development with the advanced resources offered by EnCana as a seismic specialist. Through the years, Jeremy’s petroleum career introduced him to multiple organizations and various play types from the British Columbia Montney to Saskatchewan Heavy Oil, and he established himself as an industry leader for seismic analysis.

However, Jeremy’s passion for geoscience goes far beyond seismic. In order to support his interest, Jeremy created Panther Geoscience (Panther) to offer a broad spectrum of innovative, world class geoscience services and has operated it successfully in parallel to his full time career for nearly 15 years. As of 2022, Jeremy has made the exciting decision to focus solely on Panther.

Jeremy is truly thankful for the remarkable career opportunities he’s enjoyed over the last 18 years, which include contributing to the drilling of over 400 petroleum wells, acquiring hundreds of geophysical datasets, working with the most advanced geoscientific technology, and being involved in projects ranging from prototype EM equipment development, to pioneering “miniature scale” reflection seismology for archaeological targets, and to early adoption of artificial intelligence analysis for drill location selection. Furthermore, Jeremy’s career path has afforded him unique professional experiences including aiding in Kuwait’s post Gulf War aquifer recovery and joining “The Curse of Oak Island” television series as a geophysical expert.

Jeremy believes the most significant corollary of his diverse career is the ability to “cross pollinate” unrelated projects and generate novel solutions for clients.
